Weber State Indoor meet today. Started off with the 3200 so 16 laps. I was put in the same heat as AF and Davis so I was expecting to get lapped. We take off and I'm in the middle of the pack. I just went after Malone because we are close to the same speed. I passed Summers and a kid that beat me at BYU. On the second to last lap Malone starts going for it so I went with him. I ended up passing him and like 3 other kids in the final sprint. I don't know my exact time because something went wrong with the timer. Malone said he got a 10:18 so I think I was at least a 10:17. I just keep doing better every week. The mile was like 4 hours later and I just felt awful. I decided I would just try something different during the race. I was middle of the pack with 2 laps in and decided I wanted to be in the front. So I sprinted around like 8 kids into 1st place. I held that spot for 2 laps until I just hit the wall and people passed me. Then with 2 laps to go I just told myself that no matter what I'm sprinting right now. I took off and just missed the first place person. I just have to trust my body and sprint sooner. I got a 4:58 which is a bad time but given how I felt, I'm fine with it.
